Bio-scrubber with built-in heat exchanger in sow barn

Discover the realisation

In the new sow barn in Staden, a bio-scrubber with a built-in heat exchanger was installed. This not only results in a reduction of ammonia and odor but also helps to mitigate seasonal, day and night temperature variations. During winter, there is an energy advantage, and in summer, heat stress is limited through indirect cooling.

A draineater reduces the amount of wastewater.

The air purification system can be electronically monitored through our PASmonitor.

Additionally, the installation is safely accessible.

ALL PRINCIPLES AND THEIR ADVANTAGES SUMMARIZED

AIR SCRUBBING

purifying outgoing barn air

reduces ammonia and odor

INDIRECT COOLING

cooling incoming warm air indirectly through lamellae

reduces summer heat stress and stabilizes the barn climate

HEAT EXCHANGE

preheating incoming cold air

reduces winter heating costs and stabilizes the barn climate

COMBINATION OF HEAT EXCHANGE AND AIR SCRUBBING

cooling outgoing warm barn air

reduces water consumption in air scrubbing during winter

TECHNICAL ROOM

control room equipped with all necessary pumps, controls, and measuring equipment

allows electronic monitoring via PASmonitor

DRAINEATER

selectively removes nitrite

reduces wastewater by 90% and increases removal efficiency
